Fascists never learn.

They refuse to acknowledge that THEY are among the root causes of the poverty, inequality and indignity of Filipinos, so they train their guns on their perceived enemies to keep their power and loot. And that — the oppressive and repressive governance that has been so stark during the Marcos and Duterte regimes — has been the raison d’être of any form of resistance.

Marcos Jr., in his description of terrorism in the forum last night, just stupidly described the Marcos and Duterte regimes — both marked with thousands of bloody killings, abductions, torture and other grave human rights violations against civilians. The real terrorists are those who committed such high crimes against the Filipino people, but Marcos Jr. conveniently blames the CPP-NPA-NDF to deflect attention and accountability.

Marcos Jr.’s parroting of the positions of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict shows that he is as unhinged and as fascist as this task force is in its deranged analysis and solutions on the situation of unpeace in the country. His fake and empty words on the resumption of peace talks is betrayed exactly by his pledge to continue the militarist efforts of this disgusting task force if he becomes elected.

The legitimate grievances that have driven the armed conflict decades on since the Marcos dictatorship are not just localized concerns: they are national and historical. And yet, Marcos Jr. idiotically clings to engineering the surrender of the CPP-NPA-NDF with his deceptive calls for localized “peace talks” rather than engaging in genuine dialogue to comprehensively address and resolve the roots of armed conflict for a just and lasting peace.

Indeed, fascists never learn. They try to hoodwink the electorate and are poised to inflict greater harm on the poor majority — but they do not realize that we, the people, will always see through their hypocrisy and treachery.
