Nine Supreme Court magistrates betrayed us - SELDA and CARMMA

The nine Supreme Court magistrates have betrayed the martyrs and heroes who suffered and died at the hands of state security forces of a tyrannical dictatorship. The nine Supreme Court magistrates have betrayed the whole Filipino nation and our history.

Release all political prisoners, especially sick and elderly prisoners

A day before the resumption of the second round of formal talks between the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GPH) peace panels, the Samahan ng mga Ex-Detainees Laban sa Detensyon at Aresto (SELDA) renewed its call to immediately release all political prisoner (PP) through general amnesty, especially the ailing and elderly political prisoners, PPs detained for more than a decade and women political prisoners.

Victims to Marcoses: Move On, Answer for Your Crimes

"To 'move on' without justice is simply not possible for the thousands, even millions, of victims of the Marcos dictatorship. Instead, it is the Marcoses who should move on,” said Danilo Dela Fuente, spokesperson of SELDA, today during the Supreme Court oral arguments on the petitions against late dictator Ferdinand Marcos’ burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani. Former political prisoners and torture survivors during martial law, including dela Fuente and other personalities, were the first batch of those who filed the petition.

Martial Law victims led by former political detainees and people’s organizations filed a petition at the Supreme Court Monday, August 15, for Certiorari and Prohibition with Application for a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) and/or Writ of Preliminary Injunction to disallow the burial of the deposed dictator Ferdinand E. Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (LNMB).

SELDA says no to Marcos burial at “Libingan ng mga Bayani”

AlDub Political Prisoners

There are now a number of AlDub political prisoners here at Camp Bagong Diwa. Among them are the AlDub couples, Ruben Saluta / Precy Estrada, Alex Birondo / Winona Oñate, and Adel Silva / Sharon Cabusao, who have been among those foully transferred last September and October from Philippine National Police detention in Camp Crame to Bureau of Jail Management and Penology detention here in Camp Bagong Diwa. All the other male and female political prisoners, separated by gender here at Camp Bagong Diwa, are actually also AlDub political prisoners -- as they have been confined in order to be separated from the mass of the people, especially the oppressed and exploited, to whom they have devoted to the fullest their hearts, their work and the whole of their lives.

In Aquino’s Tuwid na Daan, human rights are trampled upon

Camp Bagong Diwa Political Prisoners Hail October 2015 Manilakbayan

October 25, 2015

We, political prisoners, hail the matchers and other participants and supporters -- along the way, and even in other far away places -- of the October 2015 Manilakbayan.

This mass protest activity has travelled all the way from the farthest part of Mindanao in the south to the national capital, to decry and bring to the attention of the people all over the country the extremely cruel fascism that has been victimizing the indigenous Lumad and other exploited and oppressed people in the country.

SELDA on Sen. Bongbong Marcos' bid for vice president

The vice-presidential candidacy of the son and namesake of the late, unlamented dictator Ferdinand Marcos has only further confirmed the Marcoses’ delusion of (returning to) continuing power to (re-)establish their brand of anti-people and fascist rule. That such a political charlatan could have the gall to project himself as pro-democracy and pro-people speaks volumes about his malevolence. He has been short of telling us that the Marcoses have been God’s gift to the Philippines.

The “righteous path” is one big lie… At the end of his term, it is clear that Aquino’s flipped road is marked with oppression, plunder, brutality and puppetry),” said the political prisoners at the New Bilibid Prisons in a statement released through Karapatan.
