In a statement released from prison, Andrea Rosal extends her support to the impeachment case filed by the anti-pork groups led by the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan against BS Aquino. Rosal said she could not remain silent while Aquino and his cohorts freely plunder the people’s money.

On Monday, July 21, progressive people’s organizations, church groups and anti-pork activists filed an impeachment complaint at the House of Representatives against President Benigno Aquino III for “culpable violation of the Constitution and betrayal of public trust in the matter of the Disbursement Acceleration Program.”
The impeachment complaint also accused the President of "betraying the public trust by exacerbating the corrupt pork barrel system, committing tyrannical abuse of his powers, violating his oath of office, and perpetrating multiple counts of technical malversation and corruption of public officials."
Rosal also said Aquino should answer for the victims of human rights violations against activists and ordinary people.
VIP treatment vs. plunderers
Rosal lost her daughter Diona two days after giving birth. She lambasted the Aquino government for giving favors those accused of plunder, specifically Atty. Gigi Reyes. Reyes was supposed to stay with Rosal and other political detainees at Camp Bagong Diwa-female dorm.
Rosal recalled how she went through the bureaucratic red tape of fulfilling endless requirements despite her condition and a court order for her hospitalization. Rosal was asked to secure a private room at the Philippine General Hospital to ensure that her security escorts had a place to stay while she was in a labor-room. She also cited the lack of ambulance driver to bring her to the hospital, and many other “excuses” that delayed her hospitalization.
Sinabi lang na emergency case na kaya dinala agad,” said Rosal, as she cautions the government that she and other inmates will be watching closely how Reyes will be treated inside jail. ###
