NDF Consultant says DAP is Aquino’s way of controlling the bureaucracy

A detained peace consultant of the NDFP said the DAP is one of Aquino’s “dictatorial means” to control the bureaucracy.

Roy Erecre, one of the 15 currently detained JASIG-protected peace consultants, wryly asked, “What meaningful development has Aquino started when all he wanted is to control everything through dictatorial means, specifically in the form of the Disbursement Acceleration Program.”

“His father, Ninoy, fought the Marcos dictatorship, but BS Aquino has now become a dictator. His mother, Cory, released political prisoners despite her bloody counterinsurgency program, Noynoy never did. Instead, he kept adding up to the number of political prisoners, especially among the NDFP peace consultants who are JASIG-protected; and in flagrant violation of the said agreement,” said Erecre.

Erecre, 50, was arrested on May 7, 2014 at Brgy. Bajada, Davao City and now faces charges of robbery in band. He is currently at the Bohol District Jail. The NDFP Negotiating Panel acknowledged Erecre’s Document of Identification No. ND978243 under the assumed name Vide Alguna. On April 20, 2001, then GRP Negotiating Panel Chairman Silvestre H. Bello III issued a Letter of Acknowledgment to Erecre as peace consultant for Visayas.

“The plunder of the country’s funds through the pork barrel system is worse under the Aquino regime than in the past. Zero implementation of projects has become the norm so Aquino and his cohorts could appropriate more funds for themselves,” he said.

He added, “The pork barrel swindle, including Aquino’s DAP, has resulted to the outpouring of protests. The People’s SONA was held not only in Metro Manila but also in various places in Visayas and Mindanao. The people are disgusted with the President’s refusal to heed the Supreme Court decision that DAP is unconstitutional.”

The GDP growth Aquino mentioned in his SONA, Erecre said, was never felt by the people, especially the poor workers and peasants. “Even the typhoon Yolanda survivors interviewed by the media said they don’t believe Aquino because they didn’t get the help he was talking about.”

Erecre said Aquino cannot claim development under his regime for as long as there is joblessness. Odd-jobbers are on the rise, the wages are low, and the prices of basic commodities are increasingly becoming unaffordable for the common tao. Only genuine land reform and industrialization could spell our national development, but that is not in Aquino’s “righteous path”.

Aside from being JASIG-protected, Roy Erecre could be released on humanitarian ground. Before his arrest, he was diagnosed with venous insufficiency, peripheral arterial disease and diabetes. The inhuman jail condition only worsens his illnesses. ###
