On threats vs truthseekers on the massacre of the Fausto family

The NTF-ELCAC’s minions have threatened to file charges against those who condemned the massacre of the Fausto family in Himamaylan, Negros Occidentall and called on authorities to arrest members of progressive groups out to conduct a fact-finding mission.

Such threats and intimidation are obviously frantic attempts to prevent the fact-finding mission from exposing the sordid truth behind the killing of Rolly Fausto, his wife Emelda and their sons Ben, 14 and Ravin, 11. The Faustos, who had repeatedly been red-tagged by the military for their involvement in an activist peasants’ organization were killed in their hut in Sitio Kangkiling, Barangay Buenavista, Himamaylan City on the night of June 14. Their bodies were discovered the day after by one of the Fausto couple’s children who was not home when the massacre was perpetrated.

There are claims that those who spoke out to condemn the massacre and those who will conduct the fact-finding mission are out to obstruct justice because the official police and government investigation is ongoing. Yet, those who blurted out such rubbish had nothing to say when the military had the gall to present its own dubious narrative, accusing Rolly Fausto of being an informer, and claiming that the red-tagging was all for show.

Clearly, their threatening words and actions are those of entities deathly afraid of the truth being unearthed.

The Fausto family cries for justice, and we will not relent in ferreting out the truth and attaining justice and accountability for their deaths.
